First time in, no food, just tipped back a couple of glasses of wine, experiencing the sweet release of a Friday night. Excellent ambiance, service, and overall experience. I'll be going back. But be sure to get there early, oddly, they rolled up the sidewalk at 10PM on a Friday night. I want to take this in a different direction though. If you like live music, you know, one guy, playing an instrument, singing...this place is a must when Bernard Gray is playing. The guy's talents on the keyboards are amazing (three sets, all being played at the same time). His voice is tremendous as well. He came over, chatted with us, gave us a little of his varied musical background (backing for the Dells, Aretha Franklin, etc) and handed me a card. Turns out you can get this guy for about $250 a night. Mobile Music by Bernard - 770.823.9404. I'm not one to do promos, but this guy was great. I liked Ripe. I loved it because Bernard was in the house.

This is certainly one of those hidden neighborhood gems that you have to look hard to find. The best way to describe it is like going over to a friends house that is a great chef and he has friends over that play music! This is a very cozy place with superb food, great wine and beer selections and the added benefit of live music a few nights a week. Chef does a great job with the abundant availability of local fresh fish and local veggies to offer something that pleases even the most finicky palate! Great food and excellent service! Rock on!

As a social lounge, the ambiance is cool enough, but as far as a dining experience, save yourself the heartache! We arrived to loud techno-reggae blasting, for waiters delight, complete w/flickering fake candles out of sync no less! I knew we should have left then, but the reviews were so positive?! The food was good, not great, and definitely nothing we would go back for... Waiter was horrible! My fiancé had to raise his hand for another bottle of wine :) only to be told that was the last bottle.

Great wine, coffee, and tapas bar! Cozy back room with lounge style seating and live piano music on Thursday nights! Was the perfect backdrop for awesome food! Portions were innovative and extremely generous. Loved the salmon crepe and warm kale with cranberries and sweet potatoes! Will be back soon!!!

Eaten at Ripe three times now, good every time! Catch if the day was, Snapper, VERY GOOD! Five of us eating and three had entrees with the snapper, all very good! The waitress did an excellent job and was comfortable with substitutions made by our teenagers! Highly recommended

The food is amazing!!!! The service is pitiful!!! Our waitress with black hair & tattoos was on another planet or doesn't really want to be there. We can honestly say this because it's our second time their with the same waitress & exact same experience with her!!!!!! It took over 20 minutes to get wine and we had to ask about the specials! WE WERE THE ONLY TABLE IN THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT!

Very nice place with a very pleasant atmosphere. It's a tiny place with only about 8 tables, and then the "lounge" behind the dining room, which has large comfy chairs and sofas and where you may order wine and hang out. The décor is remarkably sophisticated and urban for St Augustine, and it's a nice change. The food is a little different, with standard dishes given a sort of "high organic cuisine" twist. They feature local ingredients and everything is very fresh. I had the grouper and it was perfectly cooked and super-fresh; the other diner had the flat iron steak, which is from a local organic beef ranch, and was also excellent. The wine selection is good, although not many are offered by the glass. I forgot to mention that there is a small but nice bar where you may also order from the full menu. Service is a little disorganized, unfortunately; one of the serving people appeared to have things under control, but unfortunately, she wasn't the person at our table. So we had to wait a long time to do things like order a glass of wine or even get the menu. The place is relatively new, so they're probably working out the kinks in their table service. But they're very pleasant even if somewhat inefficient, so I'm sure everything will be resolved soon. Definitely recommended: another one of the South's strip-mall gourmet gems! Oh - and the dessert crepes are delicious!

I went here on a Wednesday night and it was pretty empty besides a few couples sitting in the lounge area. We sat right next to the fireplace since it was chilly that night. I had the fillet mignon and my mom had the turkey/cranberry crepe. I dont know which one was better, they were both so good and fresh and the fillet was a perfectly cooked rare- which was what i asked for. The service was fast and friendly. The wine was good. Only one recommendation for the owner- the dinning room area was way too dark and the battery operated blue candles make that area look very uninviting. Get some really candles in there!! The fireside meal made up for this big time though!

I have never been disappointed with my selection and each time I have tried another special or house favorite. Good fresh food and interesting combinations. You will never get a "frozen" dinner here! Back room great for a library relaxed feeling and plenty of books to enjoy. Not what you would expect in a Mall. I have sent many friends here and all come away saying the same. Don't pass by because it is diminutive or off a parking lot.

We were visiting Publix in the same shopping center and saw the sign from the parking lot; wondering what it was. We're glad we found it! We visited it fairly early on a Friday night - which happened to coincide with their happy hour (3-7 I think?). Happy hour included 2 for 1 specials on wine and beer, along with some great prices on appetizers. We didn't venture through the whole restaurant/lounge, but from what we saw, it used its space really well - creating a cozy/intimate atmosphere without being too cramped. I really liked the decoration; looked like a lot of time and thought went into it. We were just interested in drinks and a small bite to eat, so I can't comment on the dinners. The wine and beer selection was the shining point. They had about 6 (I think) quality craft beers on tap and many other great bottles/cans to choose from. Their wine list looked rather extensive as well, with many organic options from around the world to choose from. Their house chardonnay was very good too! I would have given it 5 stars, but I'm going to hold out until I try a meal and visit the lounge. I will say the pesto and chip appetizer was excellent though! The staff was very friendly. Oh, and they make great coffee as well (skip the starbucks in the same plaza...) Looking forward to another visit!

Really good kind of pricey but the food is amazing and the portions are large.
